Systec Conveyors turned 25 this last month! 25 years in business can cause one to reflect on company progress. "We are deploying LEAN principles, and as a result our production time has decreased dramatically." Mike Harris says while addressing the company at the Systec company Spring cLEANup event on April 7th. For the past 6 months Systec Conveyors has been going through a Kaizen event, reducing waste and finding efficiencies. As a result we have reduced overtime, and most importantly lead time. One area in particular that has increased drastically is roller production going from 16 rollers and hour per cell to around 30 means parts fulfillment is even faster now. But while Systec Conveyors moves forward with its future it looks back at its past. Systec Conveyors was founded 25 years ago by Michael Harris's father Rick Harris. Rick worked in the company for 23 years as the CEO. And during those 23 years he brought many innovations to the industry. Systec Conveyors was the first to introduce plastic belt conveyor to the corrugated industry, he was also the first to automate dunnage removal. Last year Systec introduced the Performance Line Passive Right Angle Transfer or PLRAT at SupeCorr and we are continuing to develop new solutions for the corrugated industry. Focusing on high-speed converting, and high speed load forming.
